Do you know that all the while in MMU, I've been all by myself?
When there's a group assignment, I'd just find a group and join in. I tried my best to make friends but I felt as if I don't belong to their world. I'm so shy to approach anyone in class. First reason, none in the classroom is the same major or year as me. I'm so much different in term of academic level. I'm older and.. slower. Second reason, conservative people. I don't just put the blame on them. I experienced it many times :( When a student is with his/her big group of friends which consists of more than 6 mates, you start talking to them; they, especially girls give an expression saying, "What you want from me? Who are you?" So sad isn't it? How about guys? I don't dare to approach guys lar, that's for sure. Seriously, you've got to pity me in this.
Today I experienced a different thing. The first class was tutorial, Organizational Behaviour. Surprisingly, my favourite tutor, Mr Ong was sitting at the table. Yey! I was so happy. He make the students feel so ease and comfortable. Then, usually during his class, he wants students to participate in every discussion. It's one of the chances I am able to get make new friends.
Then there's this girl who sat 2 rows behind me during HRM lecture, after getting the group members' name, she passed a note to me asking for my name and number. Then we talk about stuffs. Hey, I don't do this. This case is exceptional. Haha. We discussed about the assignments thingy. She's really a cool girl. She's open and willing to be friendly to me. This may be my first impression on her. But am I judging a book by its cover? I hope not X(
For as long as I have been in MMU, no one would do that to me unless they're my mates since 1st year. I tried to smile at them, but maybe I scare them away. Haha.
